dfYOUNG / Good Boy Vodka Win Round 1 at Cocoa Beach

Wyatt and Pratt take first round at Thunder On Cocoa Beach.

The new UIM Class 1 Team Defalco boat had a good start and led for the first five laps. Until, in the words of Mike Falco "a 10-cent drain plug failed" letting water fill into the boat's engine compartment. The weight and the "dampening" effect on the engine brought to an end a very promising performance.

Conditions were calm for Cocoa Beach, the surfing capital of the East Coast, but despite this, the water conditions proved to be quirky and unpredictable

The battle up to this point, had been for second place. Initially, Morpheus was front-runner, but dfYOUNG / Good Boy Vodka managed to overhaul them to take the lead and hold it to the end. dfYOUNG / Good Boy Vodka is one of the longest boats in the class and looked very steady knifing through the water, showing an impressive turn of speed in the hands of owner/throttle Rich Wyatt and driver Alex Pratt.

Morpheus 8 with Johnny Tomlinson on throttles and Myrick Coil at the helm came in second and Monster Energy / M CON followed in third place, with driver Myrick Coil and throttleman Steve Curtis.
