Class 1 race team Defalco Offshore Racing has announced that it will be competing in this year’s UIM world championship in a Victory Class 1 boat, with throttleman Billy Moore alongside New York-based owner and driver Mike Falco.
“The new boat will be ready for the opening race in Cocoa Beach,” confirmed team manager Christina Falco. “Mike and Billy are raring to go and will start testing in North Carolina early next month. It’s a 45-foot Victory with BPM drives and SCS quick change gear sets.”
It is two years since Falco - Founder, President & CEO of Defalco Construction, one of the premier open shop cast-in-place concrete foundation and superstructure subcontractors in New York City – launched a new team to race in the Class 1 series in an Outerlimits Cat. He explained that for some time he had wanted to get involved with offshore racing and regards Class 1 as the pinnacle of the sport where he can compete against the best boats with the best equipment and best crews in the world. Now, with seven races under his belt, Falco is excited about flying the flag for his home city in this season’s five-venue championship.
