We’re saddened and disappointed that 222 Offshore must withdraw from the remainder of the 2022 UIM Class 1 championship. We wish Darren a swift recovery and look forward to welcoming the team back next year.
"2022 has been an incredible year of racing back in the USA and we feel privileged to be part of the Class 1 racing fraternity. We've had some amazing battles on the water, which is a testament to the incredibly high standard of competition amongst the ever-growing Class 1 field of teams.
It is with regret that we're announcing our withdrawal from the upcoming Key West World Championships, which forms race 6, 7 and 8 of the Class 1 World Championship. Darren, our driver and team owner, recently underwent surgery and he has unfortunately experienced complications in the last few days. We can confirm that he is recovering well and he is very much looking forward to getting back in the boat and competing again in 2023.
We would like to thank everyone for their support of our team this year and we wish all the teams a safe and enjoyable race in Key West. We'll see you all in 2023!"
